I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of New South Wales in the Lab of Ruiting Lan. I work on bacterial population genomics of various clinically relevant bacterial species, focussing on Salmonella. I use the large amount of publicly available genome data to the develop new approaches for the application of next generation sequencing data to both short and long term epidemiology. I completed my PhD at the University of Melbourne under Alex Andrianopoulos where I applied comparative genomics and molecular biology to understand the pathogenicity of the dimorphic pathogenic fungus, Talaromyces marneffei.
